Financial planning and investments for a rich retirement
We all know that the press has been giving huge thumbs up for the show Pushing Daisies, but we also know that often times what the critics like doesn’t match what the viewers like. So here is a snippet of what the TV Guide said and you can read the rest of the article on there website TVGuide.com.
“I’m sold, obviously. But can ABC, and the critics who’ve embraced Pushing Daisies, sell the audience? It may not be easy, but there were a lot of unbelievers a year ago who doubted the chances for the equally lovable Ugly Betty, and look how well that turned out.”
There’s any number of ways to analyze its chances, but as foolhardy as it sounds, I’m going with my heart and my gut and predicting that Pushing Daisies will be more than a sleeper. It’s a keeper.”
ABC has just recently announced there fall roll out schedule, meaning the date and time of the premiers of there shows for this years season. According to TV.com ABC has officially announced that Pushing Daisies will premiere Wednesday October 3 for a one hour premiere from 8-9pm. Only a few months until we get to check out the pilot episode of Pushing Daisies.
Maura Reilly is a very well known critic, especially around the internet, and is known for giving a very straight forward opinion. In the process of reviewing all of the fall premiere pilots she had this to say about the upcoming Pushing Daisies:
ABC’s “Pushing Daisies” is my favorite pilot so far. Lee Pace (“Wonder Falls”, “Soldier’s Girl”) is Ned who discovers as a boy with tragic results that he has the ability to touch dead things and bring them back to life.
Once he reawakens something, the act of just touching them returns them instantly back to their former state.
He must be careful though, if he brings something back and then doesn’t touch it again another creature or human in the vicinity will instantly fall down dead.
Lee is adorable as the shy Ned, wary of physical contact. Chi McBride is his partner, a private eye who strong arms Ned into awakening corpses to discover how they died and then collecting any rewards. British actress Anna Friel (whom I adore) is Chuck, Ned’s long lost childhood love. Anna is almost unrecognizable; she’s lost so much weight….too much in my opinion. Tiny Kristin Chenoweth is Olive and she carries a bit of a torch for Ned.
After surfing for a little I came across a new video that surfaced late last night on the new fall show Pushing Daisies. This is the most highly received show by critics, but the question still remains, with this highly stylized show be able to wow viewers? Here is a nice little snippet of the show that tells me it has a pretty good shot.

Many times all an actor or an actress needs is one big break, for Kristin Chenoweth she has had her time in the industry, and now seems to have hit her stride at the age of 38. Kristin is set to star in the upcoming fall drama/comedy Pushing Daisies on ABC, however thats not all she is up to.
According to BuddyTv.com, Kristin is set to star “in the animated film Tinker Bell, Kristin Chenoweth will be providing the voice of Rosetta, along with Brittany Murphy (Clueless, Little Black Book) as Tinker Bell, and America Young (The Long Way Back, Thomas Grey’s Rainy Day) as Wendy Darling”
It is great to see Kristin who has been recognized for her talent on stage to continue to develop outside of Pushing Daisies this fall.

As I was surfing the net I came across an article on the Orlando Sentinel where Hal Boedeker had a brief article on a lot of the new shows coming this fall, including Pushing Daisies. Here is what Hal had to say about the Pushing Daisies pilot:
“Many critics cited “Pushing Daisies” as their favorite, but questioned whether it could last. They cited a too-precious style and wondered whether the series could sustain its sweet, oddball tone.
I’m pessimistic about the chances for “Pushing Daisies.” Lovely pilot. But TV is a week-in, week-out business. What has legs?”
I can see where he is coming from, from what I have seen of Pushing Daisies it is a show that is either going to really take off be symboled as to different for viewers. Only time will tell.
If there is one show this Fall that is getting more praise and more publicity it would hands down be Pushing Daisies which has been considered by many of the critics the sure fire front runner of the new shows this Fall. The associated press had this to say about the upcoming show:
“Pushing Daisies,” whose mild-mannered hero, Ned, has the power to bring murder victims back to life with just his touch - at least long enough for them to blow the whistle on their killers.
But “Pushing Daisies” has more to say: how good things often come with a catch. Such as: Ned can’t touch anyone a second time. If he does, that person will die for keeps. Which really puts a crimp in Ned’s love life.”
We are only a few months out until we can decide for ourselves.
We are growing closer and closer to September where we see the premiere for all of the new and old shows of Fall 2007, and it looks like the New York Times just couldn’t help themselves as they have a very extensive article on ABC’s new show Pushing Daisies.
One thing from the article that really stood out was how big ABC was backing the show. For example, “Steven McPherson, the president of ABC Entertainment, said: “We have not had many shows generate enthusiasm as intense as this one. We’re going to be pushing it in a big way.”
In the article Bryan Fuller the creator of Pushing Daisies gives us this insight into the show “In “Pushing Daisies” ornaments abound. Mr. Fuller fashioned a story of Ned, a boy who discovers — no explanation is offered — that if he touches dead creatures, they return to life.
Soon he also discovers his corresponding ability: a second touch and they’re goners. Unfortunately he also learns that anytime he allows a resurrected being to survive, someone else falls over dead. That’s what happens to the father of Chuck, the little girl Ned has a crush on.”
For the rest of the article go to the New York Times to check it out.
